Choosing a wedding or elopement venue that's close to ski resorts in the winter is perfect for the snowy mountain vibe but don’t necessarily want to ski on your wedding day. You may want to ski that week but not on the day so having the Colorado Ski Resorts close by is perfect for you two.
Sapphire Point - Lake Dillon - Ski at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper
There are beautiful views from the point overlooking the lake. It’s accessible in the winter by a little trail to the overlook. It’s a perfect spot for an intimate wedding ceremony with gorgeous views. There’s no place on-site for a reception but you have tons of restaurants and breweries close by that would be lovely to have a low-key reception at! The Lodge at Breckenridge - Breckenridge, Colorado - Ski at Breckenridge
The deck has some of the very best views in Breckenridge in the wintertime for your intimate ceremony and reception. It’s so perfect for a small elopement with guests that need to stay warm and is accessible to crutches and wheelchairs. It’s also a perfect venue to dance the night away!! Devil’s Thumb Ranch - Tabernash, Colorado - Sk at Winter Park
There’s a few options at Devil’s Thumb Ranch for you winter wedding ceremony, all of them have gorgeous views and are super magical in the snow! The restaurant is so delicious that you will want to eat there and warm up at the fire after you say “I Do!” You can even stay here all weekend and enjoy the cabins or hotel. There’s no downhill skiing at Devil’s Thumb that’s why it’s under, Close to Ski Resorts, but it does have cross country ski tracks here that are really fun! Tips for Getting Married in the Snow
When you get married in winter wonderland you are surrounded by magical snow! The worst thing is if you get cold. So most of the tips are aimed towards keeping you and your partner warm and cozy!
Wear Leggings
Nude leggings are perfect for wearing under your dress to keep you warm in the mountains.
Have Hand Warmers
Hand warmers are perfect for warming up in between activities or to keep in your gloves to stay nice and cozy.
Gloves
Best thing to do to stay warm is to keep your hands warm. They are the hardest thing to warm up after it’s super cold is hands so it’s best to never get them cold!
Drink Something Hot
You can bring some hot coco in a thermos or use a camping stove to make it! It could be a perfect activity! Don’t forget the marshmallows!
Cover your head or Ears
Most of your heat escapes through your head so you can wear a beanie or ear muffs if you don’t want to mess up your hair.
Bring Chocolate
A little bit of chocolate can warm you and give you energy!

Always, it’s like the most important thing in the mountains all the time!

The sun sets around four-thirty in the winter so make sure to get married earlier than you might in the summer to take advantage of the warm sun.
