Aubre & Amer's Hiking Adventure Engagement Session

If you asked me what my dream day is, I probably wouldn’t say trying to go to sleep at 6:00 p.m., waking up at 12:30 a.m., and then starting to hike at 2:30 a.m. But sunrise hiking engagement sessions really are my favorite! I get to hike, watch the sun rise, and photograph an amazing couple in the most perfect location with an alpine glow. Plus, there is no one else around, which makes changing outfits in the wilderness easy!

Aubre and Amer’s Hiking Engagement Session was the freaking bees knees! They got to know each other hiking, so including hiking in their engagement session was really important to them. We were planning on hiking up Mt. Audubon, but fate had other plans for us! It was incredibly dark out when we found each other in the trailhead parking lot and began our trek. After about two hours of hiking, during which Aubre’s and my headlamps both went out, we arrived at a beautiful alpine lake. Which is not what is at the peak of Mt. Audubon. While it wasn’t the destination we had planned, we decided to embrace this lake and all it’s views.

Deciding to stay at this majestic lake was the best decision of the day! Adventures all come with surprises, mishaps, and oops! And this one turned out fantastic, as they do if you just go with it! As the sun started to light up Blue Lake, my smile, dancing, and giggles just couldn’t stop! This was joyous!

With Paiute Peak in the background, we captured some fantastic images of these lovebirds celebrating another adventure together. They certainly took it up a notch with their stunning outfits. Her red dress and his suspenders were killer! I am so excited to share these images with you!

How did you two meet?

We met at a one year old's birthday party, but we got to know each other a week later when we hiked Mt. Quandary for sunrise in October 2013.

What's the bride's favorite thing about the groom?

How well he takes care of me - whether it's packing my lunch or not leaving me hanging on the dance floor, he's always there for me.

What's the groom's favorite thing about the bride?

Her sense of adventure. For example, I can say "Let's go to Malaysia!" and she'll be like, "Cool! Let's do it!"

What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?

Eating; with hiking a close second!

We want to travel all over the world. Some of our top contenders for the next spots are Machu Picchu, Spain, Thailand, and Kenya. We love experiencing new cultures, eating ALLLLLL the food, and seeing friends.

If y'all could sit down and eat dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Aubre would choose her grandfather, who always had interesting stories and great advice. Amer would choose Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David because it would be really entertaining and he'd love to see how their minds work. Aubre would totally crash that dinner.
